Mike Miller – Extra Innings InstructorMike is currently in his fourth season as Assistant Coach for the Northern High School Varsity Baseball team, 2005 and 2006 Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Champions. Mike has been active in Little League baseball for the last 10 years and has been involved with teams of varying levels and ages while once serving as the Director of Baseball Operations for the Northern Calvert Little League. Mike brings a defensive mind to the program as well as experience, dedication, determination and a winning attitude. Mike, co-owner of Extra Innings-Upper Marlboro will be Assistant General Manager. |

Frank Kosa – Extra Innings InstructorFrank’s love for the game of baseball made coaching in his son’s baseball leagues a natural fit. Frank has coached in the Northern Calvert Little League for the past 6 years and is widely regarded as one of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable coaches in the league. Frank’s last three teams have made it to the Championship Game, capturing the title in 2005. In that time, he has also coached three All-Star teams competing in the District 7 Little League tournaments. He also is involved in the administrative end of the league, serving as the Director of Finance for the Northern Calvert Little League the past two seasons and Director of Equipment for two seasons. Frank, co-owner of Extra Innings-Upper Marlboro will be the General Manager. |

Jillian Callaway – Extra Innings InstructorJillian graduated from the University of Maryland in 2003 with a B.S. in Communications. During her collegiate career as a Terrapin, Callaway played nearly every position on the field and amassed a 0.988 fielding percentage while batting 0.300 at the plate. She was honored with the M Club President’s Cup Award for Academic Achievement and ACC Top Six for Service Award, and was also selected to the Verizon All-Academic 2nd team. In her first year after graduation, she worked as a softball instructor at Planet Fastpitch in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, New England’s largest exclusive Fastpitch softball facility. Callaway moved back to her roots to take the assistant coaching position at her alma mater in the Fall of 2004. She helped the Terrapins to another winning season while promoting character and poise, which won them the ACC Sportsmanship Award for the 2005 Season. Callaway continued on as the pitching coaching in the Fall of 2005 under new Terrapin Coach Laura Watten. Callaway was also recently named Deputy Commissioner of ASA Softball for the MD/DC Region.. Jillian is the Lead Softball instructor for Extra Innings-Upper Marlboro. |

Guy Smith – Extra Innings InstructorCoach Smith was a four-year letter winner at the University of Maryland and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 16th round of the 1992 Amateur Baseball Draft. Coach Smith’s high school teams at Northern [1988-1992] won two regional titles and were a state semi finalist. He won several honors in baseball including All-SMAC [twice] and All-Met and was named Calvert County MVP. In 2006, Coach Smith earned Regional and All Extra Coach of the Year honors. Coach Smith participated in the Crown All-Star Game and played for Team Maryland. Currently, Coach Smith is the Head Coach at Huntingtown High School where he led the 2nd year school to a Regional championship and runner up in the 3A State Championship. |

Steve Oursler – Extra Innings InstructorSteve played High School ball at St. John's College in Northwest D.C where he earned all WCAC all three years on Varsity...From there, Steve attended St. Mary's College in Southern Maryland. As a freshman, Steve batted .440 and was named the Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the year for 1998 As a sophomore, Steve batted .473 and was named the player of the year in the conference where he broke single season records for homeruns, RBIs, total bases, hits, doubles and and the all time batting average leader with a .460. Steve earned a scholarship from the University of Maryland in 2000 and finished the year second in hitting. |

Rick Passalacqua – Extra Innings InstructorBaseball Experience: Played on the following World Series teams representing Puerto Rico: - Pony League, Babe Ruth and Legion ball (World Champs 1971 - Puerto Rico). - Member of the P.R. Olympic Team (1972). - Signed as a free agent out of High School (1974). - Played for the Kansas City Royals Minor League system from 1974-1976. Selected to the Gulf Coast League All Star Team (Rookie League). Led the league in saves and combined with Rich Gale to pitch a no-hitter in 1974. - Played in the Puerto Rico Winter League Championship Team that included players like Ken Griffey Sr., Dan Driessen, John Candelaria, Tim Foli, Darrel Evans, Dickie Thon and Ed Whitson. |

Lauren Pollock – Extra Innings InstructorLauren Pollock recently finished her collegiate softball career as she exhausted her eligibility at the University of Maryland. Most noted for her natural hitting ability, she was a clutch in pitch hitting situations for the Terrapins. Pollock was also used as the designated hitter and saw time in the outfield. She graduated in the spring of 2006, and teaches at Glenn Dale Elementary in Prince George’s County. Lauren used to serve as the assistant coach for the Bayside Blues 18U and 16U, teaching all aspects of the game and helping her athletes to play at the next level. |
